My favourite go to Japanese food. I love that there's an option where I can have my dish separate or in a Teishoku style. A bit of everything. There was a time when they ran out a side dish, this was communicated, and they swapped out for something I wanted. Like, come on! How good is that?! Their drinks are amazing and tasty. It has always been the same every time I came back. I had recommended it to my friends and I can't wait to come back. The meals are affordable and delish.

This is such a cute spot with very limited seating, hence it makes it personable. The food was good, however, we did feel the prawns that were provided, were not fresh, however, the food was still a solid 4/5. One thing they can maybe change, is to add the cutlery, napkins etc. On the tables. Due to limited space, people tend to create a crowded environment around the collection of these. All and all, a must try and definitely a gem in Blackburn.

Hana Kafe is an absolute gem — warm, welcoming, and serving food that’s both authentic and beautifully presented. Every dish is fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is cosy yet modern, and the service is always so friendly and attentive. I’ve eaten at plenty of Japanese restaurants across Melbourne, but Hana Kafe really stands out — it feels like a little slice of Japan right here in Blackburn.

Tall the dishes were beautifully presented. Every dish and drink was stunning and just as delicious as it looked. The highlight was definitely their signature ‘First Love’ sushi platter, 33 pieces of beautifully crafted sushi, sashimi and rolls. It does take 30 minutes to prepare, but it’s 100% worth the wait. The tacos were filled to the brim and packed with flavour, the soft shell crab roll was a classic done right with just the right amount of spicy mayo, and the menchi beef sando was surprisingly juicy and tender. As for the drinks? Gorgeous and refreshing, loved every one we tried. If you’re planning a visit, definitely book ahead, this spot is getting super popular. I managed to snag a table through their booking system. By the time we finished our meal, there was already a crowd waiting outside.

One of my favourite places for Japanese food! The staff are really lovely and go to the effort to make sure you have the best experience. The food is delicious and the drinks such as the strawberry matcha are really good. Would recommend coming here!

A beautifully curated Japanese café with an impressive menu and exceptional attention to detail. Every dish we tried was fresh and thoughtfully prepared — from the perfectly crispy fried items to the tender, juicy chicken that was cooked just right. The variety on offer makes it easy to find something for everyone, and the coffee was a pleasant surprise: smooth, well-balanced, and just the right level of sweetness. We visited on a Friday without a reservation and still found seating easily, though they do accept bookings. There’s convenient street parking right out front with space for about 4–5 cars. Overall, a delightful spot that blends quality, comfort, and great service. Highly recommended!
